About the Author
Senior editor at Lucasfilm Ltd, Jonathan Rinzler has overseen dozens of Star Wars books. He attended Parson's School of Design and NYU's Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. He settled for a while in Paris, where he taught art history and cinema. As the associate producer for a video game developer, he wrote the scripts for a number of educational titles. Rinzler returned to the States to become managing editor of GamePro magazine. He lives in Petaluma, California.

Another Gorgeous Star Wars Art Of Book

I bought this to finish my trio of Art of Star Wars prequel books. I bought this, along with The Art of Star Wars, Episode I - The Phantom Menace, and The Art of Star Wars, Episode II - Attack of the Clones].

This was the final George Lucas Star Wars movie, and with it comes some of the best artwork yet. Revenge of the Sith brought us General Grievous (and its infinite toyline), the Battle over Coruscant, and the duel on Mustafar as some of the exciting scenes brought to life. And it all started with concept art, the kind you find in these Art Of books. Some of the best conceptual artists have brought their ideas to life in this book, and it must have been difficult for George Lucas to pick what would eventually end up on the silver screen.

I love and appreciate the sketches and drawings and ideas that go into these Star Wars Art Of books. If you bought the other two, buy this to finish your collection. Recommended.

Unlike the upcoming star wars episode this ones actually written by Lucas and is fully cannon which is cool, however I was disappointed that the illustration's were photograph's from the movie and not concept art like the other illustrated star wars screenplays.

A great book for flight professionals

This text offers an algegraic approach to basic aerodynamics, air craft performance, plus limited coverage of helicopters. The chapters are now managebable for use in a college level introductory aerodynamics course primarily geared toward flight students, in any of the new emerging college curriculum. The book's organization has improved significantly over the first edition. The text is easy to read with good practical examples but there is a level of sophistication above most of the other aerodynamics texts geared for pilots. Practicing aviation professionals will also gain from use of this text. In short, I would say that the book is ideal for college level aviation programs and practicing aviation professionals.

They took a book from 1965, cut it down a bit, failed to proof read their slight edits and sold it to students at a premium. Don't waste the money on it. You can download Aerodynamics for Naval aviators off the FAA's site for free. This book is just a poor copy of it of Hurt's original work.

Excellent summary but expensive.

This book is an excellent summary of aircraft performance. However, it is not good at explaining concepts in detail and deriving formulas. Other books should be read first or with this book. A strong background in aerodynamics is assumed. This book is horribly overpriced for the limited content.

It touched my heart...

I started reading this book and had to finish it the same evening. It is written so honestly regarding every aspect of Dawn's life and love for her son James. It is a must read for parents with a handicapped child as there is advice on everything from dealing with medical issues to practical tips about planning a Children's Wish trip. But this book is more than a support book (although it is that). It is a book we as people without handicapped children need to read to learn how to reach out and start a dialogue and create relationships with parents of handicapped children and their families. It touched my heart and changed how I think about reaching out to people--all people!

I have had the privilege of watching James a few times and I have experienced his contagious joy. He is a special boy and part of a special family. Interesting, but short

I liked the concept of the story and found the story and characters to be interesting. I also liked the easy banter between the character dialogues and I found myself really wanting to get to know the characters more. However, I thought this book was too short which is why I am giving it just a 3 rating. I read this book as part of a compilation of books by various authors and I did not realize that this book was part of a series until I finished it. I went ahead and ordered the second book, because I want to find out what happens, but I will say that I really dislike the practice that authors are doing lately where they write a book in installments of less than 200 pages, but charge the full amount that a lot of 300-400 page e-books cost.

Funny, smart and sexy

Annika Martin's Hostage Bargain is one of the funniest, smartest stories I've read in this category in ages. I'm glad I bought this book. I laughed out loud several times. Annika Martin is a very, very good writer and in this category (I'm sorry to say) that's pretty rare. The story is funny, the men are hot and Melinda is a wonderful foil for all three men. She's a sexual submissive without being a doormat, and I loved reading about her discovery of the unexpected (to her) kink in her personality.

There are three heroes in this book and all three are complex, fascinating, alpha men who aren't also jerks who, in real life, would be creepy. Martin made it impossible for me to pick a favorite of the three.

It's possible the hostage theme won't work for everyone, but the premise is well set up and completely convinced me that the heroine, Melinda, had reason to hate her boss and throw in with the men who rob the bank she works at. When asked by one of the robbers if employees at all other bank branches would be as eager to see the owner lose his shirt, Melinda replies, "Not as much as the branches Hank Vernon [the bank owner] visits. They have 132 branches across the Midwest, dude. Vernon can't terrorize them all." If that humor works for you, and it did for me in a major way, you'll love this book.

This is a smart, funny well written story with hot, hot men. I can't wait for more in this series.

For this genre, a great surprise.

This sexy book came to my attention via a Goodreads thread and I'm so glad. I won't rehash the premise. The description and the other review tell you what you need to know. I will say that it's the kind of set up that you can't see going somewhere satisfying (or at least, I had trouble) and yet, this story really does. Ms. Martin packs a lot of wallop into a relatively short novel. There is great dialogue here and good twists and turns in both the 'crime' (...adventure, suspense) and erotica aspects. I liked these characters and it was because of events and their actions (I think they refer to it as lots of 'show me' and not too much 'tell me'). I definitely recommend this book. Enjoy! (Edit: Thought I should add that we can definitely hear more about these characters. I hope we do. So, you may want to note that this does not seem like the end of the road.)

A great book

I am relatively new to iOS programming (one year since my first contact with Objective-C) and *very* new to Arduino (how could I miss this awesome device for so long!!!???). I was looking for a way to connect my iOS device to Arduino and I came across the Redpark serial cable for iOS, sold by MakerShed. Allan's book taught me everything I needed to know to make iOS apps that will connect to my Arduino. After reading the book twice (the second time devoting extra time to write and seriously understand the code), I am now fully able to develop apps that do exactly what I needed: connect my iPod Touch or iPad to my Arduino.

If you are trying to learn to connect your iOS device to an Arduino, this book is for you. The book does require some knowledge of Objective-C (necessary for iOS programming) and C/C++ (necessary for programming Arduino sketches). Also, because you will need to run your apps in your iOS device, you will need to be an Apple developer (subscription is $99 a year).

To me, this book was worth every cent. I am now planning to buy and read all books from this author. I really liked his writing style and his cool approach to programming!

PS - The last chapter contains code that is a little dated. If you want to connect the Arduino to the Internet using the Ethernet library, just replace Server() and Client() with EthernetServer() and EthernetClient().

The book is ok, I think I just expected more

I bought this book to connect my arduino projects to my iphone and just have fun with it all. This book does teach you how to do that but the majority of the book relies on the use of a RedPark cable that you can buy for like $50. It might say it more obvious somewhere in the description but I didn't realize that until I was reading through the book. Also I should have looked at the page count because this book is THIN! The code looks pretty good (font etc.) and there are several diagrams and pictures to help you along the way so that is really nice. I haven't bought the cable yet so once I get it and play around with it I'll update my review. All in all from what I have read through it is an ok book. I honestly just wish I knew it relied so heavily on this other cable before I bought the book.
